A Non-sensical Question deserves a Non-sensical Answer
June 17, 2013In the absence of an available logical male presenter to answer the blatantly stupid question being posed using the same old lies and feminist tropes regarding the wage gap myth.. this answer by Miss Utah will have to suffice!
Way to go UTAH!

Ah the most boring yet funny part of pageants.
I get there are some smart cookies out there…but we know you are in there because you look good in a dress, bathing suit, and have a good talent like singing or dancing. No woman has ever wowed a crowd by being able to deconstruct society’s problems.
“…I think especially the men are seen as the leaders of this and so we need to try to figure out how to, create education better, so that we can, solve this problem.”
oh you so pretty!
“A recent study shows…” Whatever follows is most likely bullshit, and in this case it certainly was. It’s a good test for a pageant contestant – how do you handle a completely bullshit question with grace?
Lol, this is the funniest thing this week in my life, thanks a lot M3 😀
Brilliant. If asked that question in public, don’t stir the shit up by being honest, just say what she said.
@ dapper
Exactly. Quite frankly, I’m getting sick and tired of hearing that bullshit being posed as an answerable question by stupid people.
I’m glad it was posed to this pretty, yet mentally deficient woman because she didn’t get got answer she needed, she got the answer she deserved.
@ Emma
Related maybe?
Ahahahaha. All the talk of shutting the pagent down – bah – these are neeeded to provide late night talk show hosts w more crap to make fun of. Y’all remember the Miss Teen USA South Carolina incident of 2007?
“many people in America don’t have maps…. education in south Africa and the Iran…”
Brilliant fun. To be fair, I know some gorgeous women who are extremely intelligent. Two roommates who did modeling one to pay for Yale the other well to have a nice nest egg after college – Buuuut… I think there is something very superficial specific to pagent participants that makes that particular “target market”, so to speak of a lesser intellectual capacity. May be an interesting study of people and how their chosen aspirations relates to intelligence, attractiveness etc
(BTW why is there not a MISTER USA??? I’d like myself some hot dumb eye candy! – sexism – straight sexism!)
It’s easy to judge and make fun of the women who fumble their answers when you haven’t been in those heels, but it’s not always easy to answer a question like that on stage in front of everyone so I feel for these contestants, but public speaking is an important part of being Miss USA. She needs to be able to think on her feet.

Men get made fun of even worse for public speaking failures. See: George W. Bush.
I’m not sure on the specifics of the formatting for those contests, but I would say that if they’re not permitted to give them 2-3 seconds to compose an answer in their head, then it’s unfair (but only a little). That question, however, was something that would easily come up in a dinner conversation, and most anyone should have some kind of answer to it. Hell, if she had simply said, “Damn Libs!!” like a crazy right-winger she would have sounded smarter than she did.
That question for Miss Utah came from a woman who was on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. No surprise that she’s spouting tha tired line about pay.

Yeah most guys judge women by how well they think on their feet…the swimsuit competition is to wow the women.
@ Ashley
For the record, as silly and inane as the contestants reply was.. I’m not in fact making fun if her (well ok, maybe a little) in so much as I’m saying that the question asked was not deserving of a meaningful response.
We in the sphere have seen the wage gap myth destroyed a billion times over. As far as I’m concerned.. the question asker got an answer worthy of the bullshit she’s trying to peddle.
Myth?
As far as I have read into the pay gap is a reality, the reasons behind it may be up for debate and are still not really explained, only theorized, unless you have a piece of proof I have not yet seen.
@ Ashley
The pay gap is only a reality in the mind, not based in fact. I’ll let you read some of these. Hopefully they’ll open your mind to the possibility that the gap is ‘self created’ and not something that requires external push to fix.
Forbes on the Gap
A Woman who has tried to hire women for senior roles
Wall Street Journal Finds that when all things are actually equal, women earn 8% more than men
There is no Male-Female wage gap
Feminists contradicted by their own study
An Analysis of Reasons for the Disparity in Wages Between Men and Women prepared, under contract, for the U.S. Department of Labor in Jan 2009
And here you can find a funny joke of a site that pretends to be a gov site, but is probably just a feminist tumblr page in disguise. Have a run through the comments, i’m sure you will notice mine 🙂
Myth Busting the Pay Gap Tumblr
Comon Ash.. this isn’t hard. Let me add one final thought for you to chew on.
Where i work, I’m on the low end of the pay scale. I work the same amount of time as the women in HR, i work the same amount of time as the women in Design, i work the same amount of hours as the women Coding. I don’t make as much as any of them.
Is this because i am being discriminated against because i am a man? Or is it because i took a job that fit my MGTOW lifestyle and didn’t require high amounts of education, credentials and output productivity (and stress with deadlines)?
Think about it and let me know what you think luv!
The wage gap doesn’t even pass smell test. We live in a capitalist system wherein the labor market is extraordinarily fluid. If women were charging less for the exact same services as men, then the labor market would be flooded with men displaced by women who earn less. It is simply supply/demand. The reason the US has never closed the border is because Mexicans work labor-intensive farm jobs for very little money. Mexican immigration has displaced the lower-wage and youth labor that used to do these jobs because they simply charge less for the same service. There is no massive displacement of men by women in the U.S. labor market, so therefore, women must be earning the exact same amount men do.
Sorry ladies, the wage-pay gap does not exist. It may have existed at one time, but it does not exist now.
Question seems to be nonsense, since what does having kids outside marriage have to do with what salary a woman deserves? Could indicate that women have become a lot dumber and started having kids they can’t afford, or that they are able to have kids with state support without earning much because they are more financially secure than ever in history. But I think what she is proposing is that women be paid more than men as “heads of household”, similar to the pay bonus that men with families used to get back in the day. Surely this can be framed as some kind of “equality”. Feminism is really just getting started, and the developments are going to be interesting
men don’t watch these events. these are pretty much for the benefit of women. basically, this is how women choose to present themselves to each other.
