If I were the Prime MinisterSeptember 18, 2012
I could fix this problem easily.
How? 2 birds, 1 stone.
First, in an effort to strive for equality, i’d mandate a hiring and recruitment drive directed towards women. Instantly adding new construction jobs to the workforce and getting to a respectable 50% female to male ratio in construction and labor jobs. Asphalt laying, masonry, steel milling, welding, heavy equipment operators, electricians, plumbing and pipe lining. God dammit we need to gain equality in these fields and we need the extra (wo)man power to do all this heavy lifting to bring back and revitalize the critical infrastructure BOTH genders utilize on a daily basis.
Secondly, we can pay these new general laborers 85 cents on the dollar.. thus getting past that dreaded 77 cent on the dollar scourge that plagues women’s inequality right now and taking us one step closer to full equality.. but we need to do it in baby steps. And with the extra savings of 15 cents on the dollar that we would have paid men, think of all the money we would save!
Don’t forget to vote M3 in the next election my fellow Canadians.
